Time is running out to enrol in this crash course of queer-craft disco burlesque. A show that will be memorable for years to come.
Class is now in session, so pay attention and sit up straight as gay as you want. Our co-headmasters Liv Bell and Emily White have a full syllabus to get through. The coven burst onto stage in a spellbinding orientation dance, fully demonstrating what ‘Titcraft’ actually means. Trust me when I say, even though I had no idea what to expect, this ‘Boobery’ act lives up to its name. I was absolutely floored by how a dance could be crafted with such dumb intelligence, the whole room was full of belly laughs.
After homeroom, it was time for some physical activity led by our P.E teacher, Darmanatrix. A disco daddy indeed, Professor Darmanatrix put on an impressive show of athleticism, while also finding time to put on a BBQ for the class. An unforgettably hilarious act, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to have sausage in bread ever again.

Having made a mess of the gym, it was time to clean. Nicola Pohl, the janitor, was perhaps a bit too enthusiastic over cleaning. Full of innuendo and absolute chaos, Pohl’s rendition of a creepy janitor masterfully built up tension in the audience, only to dissipate with a startlingly impressive beatbox number until the stage was squeaky clean and they were brushed off the stage.
How about something more educational I hear you ask? Lucy Seale’s “Professor of Bug” (because who can ever remember which is the study of words and which one is insects?) stepped us through the mating process of mosquitoes. Ok maybe not so much mating as it was just rapacious lust. I don’t know about you, but I’ve always hated the blood suckers. That was until watching this show, which just goes to show how notably funny this was. Oh, and to add to the extraordinary talent, all done on rollerblades.
The Titwitchez School of Titcraft and Boobery is a prime example of physical comedy done right. Each performer does an excellent job of holding the audience's attention and getting them to snicker, snoot and whoop. Bell and White anchor the show beautifully, and the partnership on stage is a treat for all. For any fans of drag, physical comedy, unserious burlesque, or just someone who laughs at the silly goose in all of us, I would highly recommend making your way to enrol in class before the semester is over.
